Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. has announced the promotion of Bradley Shell to the rank of corporal within the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Shell began his career with the department on Feb. 2, 2019, as a patrolman in the Uniformed Patrol Division. He graduated from the Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy on May 31, 2019, where he was recognized for his physical fitness and served as a squad leader.
In October 2021, Shell became a certified field training officer, taking on the responsibility of mentoring and training new deputies. Later that year, he was certified as a K-9 handler and partnered with K-9 Soder.
Shell and his K-9 partner earned national certification through the North American Police Work Dog Association in October 2023. In addition to his patrol and K-9 duties, Shell serves as both an operator and K-9 handler on the department’s Special Response Team.
During his tenure, Shell has received multiple Patrolman of the Month honors and was named Patrolman of the Year in 2022.
Sheriff Woods said the promotion reflects Shell’s dedication and leadership within the agency.
“Corporal Shell has consistently demonstrated professionalism, initiative and a strong commitment to service,” Woods said. “This promotion reflects both his past accomplishments and our confidence in his continued leadership.”
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office congratulated Shell on the promotion and expressed confidence in his continued service to the community.
