Monticello Man Sentenced to 35 Years in Child Sexual Assault Case

A Monticello man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a child sexual assault investigation.

According to the Monticello Police Department, investigators arrested Clinton Savage, 41, on Aug. 14, 2025, on charges including rape of a child, distributing, possessing or viewing sexually explicit material involving a child, and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

Authorities said the investigation resulted in the collection of physical evidence and an admission by Savage regarding his conduct.

Savage appeared in circuit court on Feb. 23, 2026, before Judge Robert Gibson, where he entered guilty pleas to two counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of possession of a firearm by certain persons.

Following the plea, Savage was sentenced to 35 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kelley Fortenberry represented the State of Arkansas in the case.
