An open house is planned Tuesday by the Southeast Arkansas College Division of Technical Studies beginning at 6 p.m. to expose potential students to a variety of career opportunities.
Roberta Thomas, the Dean of the Technical Studies Department and Wendell Gray, a CDL instructor were guests on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show Monday to talk about the open house and about some of those career opportunities with Thomas explaining some of the classes available.
Morning Show host Greg Horne said when he thinks of things like welding and HVAC, he thinks of physical work, but cyber-security is like programing. Host Jennfer Lipp told Thomas that with everybody being concerned about being hacked, she thinks the demand would be huge.
Gray then talked about the CDL program.
Horne asked Thomas what the role of the role of the Technical Services Department is.
The open house will take place at the Technical Services building at 1900 S. Hazel St. those planning to attend are asked to be on time for the start of the program.
