Pine Bluff Police Chief Shawn Davis spoke with the Pine Bluff Small Business Association on Wednesday to outline his vision for the department under his leadership.
In part two of his interview with Deltaplex News, Davis said he plans to pursue federal accreditation for the department.
The department earned state accreditation under former Chief Denise Richardson, and Davis said he wants to build on that foundation by seeking federal accreditation.
Davis said the department is seeing positive results from its G40 initiative, a program that assigns officers to patrol a designated 40-block area twice per shift with alley and cruiser lights activated to help deter crime.
Finally, Davis outlined his goals for his first year as Pine Bluff Police Chief.
