Three Desha County Residents Arrested Following Break-In and Vandalism Investigation

Three Desha County residents were arrested Wednesday, Feb. 4, following an investigation into a reported break-in and vandalism at a residence in Reed.

According to the Desha County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Alan Hernandez was dispatched to the residence after receiving a report of possible theft. Upon arrival, Hernandez spoke with family members who explained that the mobile home—formerly the residence of a now-deceased individual—was being used as a storage facility.

Investigators learned that three individuals had been observed leaving the home. Further inspection revealed signs of forced entry, and family members identified several items as missing from the property. In addition, deputies discovered that multiple vehicles located at the residence had recently been vandalized.

Later that day, Hernandez identified the three suspects as Michael Story, 24; Katherine Story, 29; and Jacob Rowe, 28, all of Reed.

All three were arrested and charged with breaking and entering and criminal mischief.

The investigation remains ongoing.
