Altheimer Mayor: Water has been restored to Altheimer

UPDATE 10:40 P.M. Altheimer Mayor Zola Hudson tells Deltaplex News that water service has been restored to the City of Altheimer.

I thank God first and foremost! The water is back on,” said Hudson. “Many thanks tonight for all the volunteers and supporters. I appreciate all the calls and donations given to the citizens of Altheimer.“

The cause for the lack of water has not been shared with Deltaplex News at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation and will share more information as it becomes available.

ORIGINAL STORY:
The City of Altheimer is experiencing a water emergency after service was interrupted across the city, according to Mayor Zola Hudson.

Hudson said the emergency began within the last 30 minutes and that there is currently no running water for residents throughout Altheimer. The mayor is asking for immediate assistance to help provide bottled water to residents.

Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson told Deltaplex News he is working to assist Mayor Hudson as officials work to determine the cause of the disruption.

Mayor Hudson said anyone who is able to help supply bottled water is asked to contact Altheimer city offices at 870-329-4963.
