A $50,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man currently on parole who was arrested Wednesday after he was found driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
Jefferson County Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Solomon Thompson, 50, with theft of property and possession of a controlled substance.
Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said on Dec. 29, police were sent to Food Smart in response to a reported auto theft.
Kizer said Thompson was behind the wheel of the vehicle and when he was searched, police found a small bag containing suspected K-2.
Thompson was told to come back to court Feb. 18.
