Fire alarms were activated at Star City High School on Friday evening, prompting a response from school officials and emergency personnel.
According to officials, the alarms went off at approximately 8 p.m. and were later determined to be the result of a false alarm. An investigation found no fire on campus and no damage to school facilities.
Authorities believe the alarm activation may have been caused by heavy smoke in the area from nearby residents burning leaves, which likely triggered the system.
