Pine Bluff police are investigating a shooting that left a man hospitalized early Saturday morning, Dec. 20.
According to the Pine Bluff Police Department, officers were dispatched around 6 a.m. to the 1300 block of West 23rd Avenue after receiving a report of a person who had been shot. When officers arrived, they found the victim being loaded into an ambulance for transport to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where he was taken for treatment. His condition was not immediately released.
A woman who placed the 911 call told officers she heard a man yelling outside her home and later saw him sitting under a tree across the street. She said the man called out to her and asked her to “call an ambulance.”
During their investigation, officers discovered that the woman’s residence had also been struck by gunfire. She was not injured in the incident.
Police located multiple spent shell casings near the intersection of West 23rd Avenue and Mulberry Street, as well as a pair of shoes believed to be connected to the shooting.
No suspect information has been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
