Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced Thursday that agents with his office have arrested a Grant County man on multiple felony counts related to child sexual abuse material.
According to Griffin, special agents with the Attorney General’s Special Investigations Division arrested Mark Allen Cagle, 62, of Grant County, on 20 felony counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a minor.
The arrest followed an investigation initiated after a cybertip was received from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Griffin said. On Nov. 4, special agents served a search warrant at Cagle’s residence in Grant County, where evidence was seized and submitted for forensic examination. Following the examination, investigators obtained an arrest warrant.
Cagle was taken into custody and booked into the Sheridan Detention Center, where he is being held on a $500,000 bond.
“I am thankful for the tip from NCMEC that led to this arrest and for the valuable assistance of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office in this case,” Griffin said in a statement. “My office will not waver in its commitment to bringing these perpetrators to justice and protecting our most vulnerable population.”
Anyone who believes they or someone they know may be a victim of exploitation is encouraged to contact the NCMEC CyberTipline at (800) 422-4453 or submit a report online at report.cybertip.org.
