This is the first of two stories about Retired Colonel Nate Todd who has announced his intention to seek the office of Jefferson County Judge in the 2026 election.
Todd, who was born and raised in Jefferson County, currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas system and was a guest on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show where he was asked why he wants the job.
Morning Show host Greg Horne told Todd that over the past couple of years, Jefferson County Government has been kind of dysfunctional and asked Todd what he thought he could add to try and resolve some of the problems that exist.
Horne also asked Todd to talk about some of the things he wanted to do if he is elected and Todd responded this way.
Todd talked about an educated workforce and Horne asked him if education was the way to do that or if there was more to it than that?
In the second part of this story, Todd talks about why he is running as a Republican and about people in other parts of the state and if they care about what happens in Pine Bluff.
