Pine Bluff Police Investigate Shooting of 14 Year Old Boy on South Cherry Street

The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating after a 14-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon on South Cherry Street.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched around 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 26 after receiving calls about a shooting. The victim was struck in the right palm and later transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock for treatment.

Detectives said the boy told officers that he and his friends had just left a store when a white Dodge Challenger began following them. When they reached a church parking lot near South Elm Street and West 22nd Avenue, a male suspect wearing a “half mask” and a white or brown hoodie with the word “BOOM” printed on it began shooting in their direction.

The boy reported that the suspect fired at least two rounds before fleeing the scene.

Police have not released any additional details about the shooter or the vehicle.
