Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson released a statement this week alleging that continued obstruction by eight members of the Jefferson County Quorum Court has caused significant disruptions across county government operations.
In his statement, Robinson said the group of justices are creating hardships for staff and residents alike. His statement is shared below:
The ongoing obstruction by eight Justices of the Peace working against the County Judge’s administration has created major hardships for Jefferson County. Their collective actions have made it extremely difficult for the departments under the Judge’s Office to function properly and for the Judge’s staff to perform daily duties that directly serve the public.

This internal gridlock has affected nearly every corner of day to day operations. Among the most serious consequences:
Email and Communication Disruption: The Judge’s staff have been locked out of official Gmail accounts due to the Google Workspace bill being left unpaid. This prevents access to essential communication tools needed for court correspondence, departmental coordination, and citizen responses.
Billing and Document Processing: The Adobe subscription used for creating invoices, bills, and financial documents—particularly for the Road Department—has been suspended. This has delayed payments, interrupted project tracking, and created unnecessary backlogs in accounting.
Interruption of Essential Services: Routine tasks such as maintenance orders, equipment requests, and vendor communication have been stalled or halted.
Loss of Productivity: Hours of the Judge’s staff time are being wasted attempting to work around systems that should already be functioning, diverting attention from real improvements in the county.
Public Trust and Accountability: The appearance of constant conflict has eroded public confidence in county leadership and raised concerns about transparency and stability.
Employee Impact: Dedicated employees within the Judge’s Office who want to serve Jefferson County effectively are discouraged and uncertain about their ability to perform their duties amid political division.
Community Progress Stalled: Projects intended to improve roads, safety, and public facilities have been delayed, slowing progress in Jefferson County tremendously.
Until these deliberate disruptions end, the focus of the Judge’s Office must remain on damage control more than development. Which seems to be the goal of these JPs. The citizens of Jefferson County deserve so much more, and the Judge continues to prioritize results, not personal agendas.
Yet, these ongoing disruptions have still greatly affected the Judge’s Office and all departments operating under it. Essential repairs and maintenance schedules in the Judges Office & Road Department have been delayed, and staff are left waiting on approvals that cannot be processed because critical accounts are inaccessible. Billing interruptions have created confusion for both vendors and staff, and the inability to properly access software and accounts has placed unnecessary pressure on the Judge’s staff who are working hard to keep county operations moving despite these barriers. In addition, the Judges Office has been unable to make timely payments to the banks for equipment leases critical to ongoing operations, putting essential maintenance and repairs at risk.
The Judge’s Office will remain committed to protecting operations and ensuring that essential services continue for the citizens of Jefferson County despite these unavailable circumstances.
