A Drew County jury has convicted Terry Laron Gragg Jr., of Monticello, of delivery of more than 10 grams of methamphetamine, following a jury trial on October 7, 2025.

The conviction stems from a controlled drug buy that took place on February 4, 2025, conducted by agents with the Tenth Judicial District Drug Task Force. According to court records, agents James Slaughter, Ben Michel, and Tad Huntsman met with a confidential informant at an undisclosed location in Drew County.

After confirming the informant had no drugs or money, agents supplied him with $200 in cash and undercover cameras. The informant then went directly to Gragg’s residence, where he purchased 28 grams of methamphetamine.

Roughly 18 minutes later, the informant returned to agents. Video footage confirmed that he traveled directly to and from Gragg’s residence without making any stops. The footage also showed Gragg exchanging cash for a bag containing 27.99 grams of methamphetamine.

Following the guilty verdict, Judge Gibson sentenced Gragg to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction, to be served consecutively to a 20-year sentence he is already serving for a previous revocation of a suspended imposition of sentence.

Deputy Prosecutor Kelley Fortenberry praised the work of law enforcement and emphasized the importance of the conviction.

“This conviction reflects the continued efforts of the Tenth Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to combat the distribution of illegal narcotics in Southeast Arkansas,” Fortenberry said.

Officials noted that methamphetamine distribution poses a significant risk to public health and safety. By removing a known distributor from the community, the sentence helps reduce the availability of dangerous substances and serves as a deterrent to others involved in illegal drug activity in Drew County.
