SHARE NOW

Rison Elementary School has been selected as one of ten schools across Arkansas to participate in the 2025 Shade Trees on Playgrounds (STOP) Program, an initiative by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture aimed at creating healthier and more comfortable outdoor spaces for students.

Through the program, participating schools receive shade trees to plant on their playgrounds, helping reduce heat exposure during outdoor activities while also promoting environmental awareness. Students will learn about the importance of trees, their role in improving air quality, and proper techniques for planting and caring for them.

The STOP Program is designed to encourage outdoor play and environmental education, providing both health and learning benefits for Arkansas students.
