The building formerly used as the School of Nursing for Jefferson Regional Hospital is being transformed into a facility to house patients at the Jones-Dunklin Cancer Center.

Called the Donna Terrell Warrior Lodge, the facility is expected to open around the first of next year.

In the first of two stories, Fox 16 News Anchor Donna Terrell and Kathy Ross from the Jones-Dunklin Cancer Center were guests on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show and Terrell explained her motivation for the project.

Morning Show host Greg Horne said Terrell was “trying to make something positive out of something horrific.”

Ross then talked about the connections between the cancer center and the Warrior Lodge.

She also discussed the impact the new facility will have on patients from outside Pine Bluff.

Terrell also talked about how people could get involved in supporting the project, or ask questions.

Tomorrow, Terrell will answer questions about what is going to be in the facility and why she decided to put it in Pine Bluff rather than Little Rock and Ross will talk about improvements in treating cancer.
