The induction ceremony for the 31st annual Arkansas Black Hall of Fame is schedule for this Saturday in Little Rock. This year’s inductees include a Pine Bluff native who went on to become a Circuit Court Judge in Little Rock. Judge Marion Humphrey Sr. grew up in Pine Bluff.
Humphrey served as a Circuit Judge in Pulaski and Perry Counties from Jan. 1, 1993, to Dec. 31, 2010, and before that was Little Rock Municipal Judge from 1989 to 1992.
He also served as pastor of Allison Memorial Presbyterian Church in Little Rock for 41 years.
Appearing on Talk Back Live with Floyd Donald, Humphrey was asked how he felt, as a boy growing up in Pine Bluff, to be inducted into the Black Hall of Fame.
Donald asked Humphrey about the love and affinity Humphrey still has for his hometown and asked him why that was?
The Ceremony and Show is slated for October 11, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Robinson Center Performance Hall in Little Rock.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Foundation’s annual grants program. In 2025, the Foundation awarded $55,000 to 20 nonprofit organizations statewide. Since 2010, ABHOF has distributed more than $1 million in grants and community investments, positively impacting residents in 71 of Arkansas’ 75 counties.
