What Accreditation Means:
Police accreditation is a rigorous process that measures a department’s operations against established professional standards. To achieve accreditation, agencies must demonstrate compliance with policies and practices that ensure accountability, transparency, and efficiency in law enforcement services.

Accreditation helps strengthen community trust by:

  • Establishing clear policies that guide officer conduct and decision-making.
  • Ensuring fair and consistent practices across all levels of the department.
  • Improving training and professional development for officers and staff.
  • Enhancing public confidence through independent review and verification of the department’s standards.

The Pine Bluff Police Department remains committed to continuing its journey toward full accreditation, reinforcing its mission to serve and protect the community with integrity, fairness and excellence.

“This is a major moment for our department,” said John Worthen, PBPD public information specialist. “This represents a lot of hard work on the part of many different people in the department. It’s another milestone for us to be the best we can be for the people of Pine Bluff.”
