Monticello police have arrested a Circle K employee in connection with a recent theft at the business.
According to Chief Carlos Garcia, officers responded to the Circle K on Highway 425 South on September 20, 2025, regarding the theft of money. During the investigation, evidence was collected and turned over to the department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
As a result, officers arrested Daniel Toney Jr., an employee of the store, on September 24, 2025. Toney has been charged with Theft of Property (over $1,000 but less than $5,000) and Breaking and Entering.
The investigation remains ongoing.
