Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said the allegations are based on an affidavit from Sheriff’s Investigator Kristen Pennington who reported that on Sunday at 9:54 a.m., Pennington heard a call on her radio reporting that a one-year-old child had ingested fentanyl.

Pennington reported that after the infant was still unresponsive after receiving the Narcan.

Akel said Bunting has a prior felony conviction on a drug charge and a pending charge of child abuse. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Oct. 27.
