Sheridan High School Undergoes Major Multi Agency Drug Sweep to Ensure Campus Safety

Sheridan High School was the center of a large-scale drug sweep Wednesday as law enforcement agencies from across central and southeast Arkansas partnered in a joint operation aimed at keeping the campus free of contraband.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Sheridan Police Department led the effort, working in full cooperation with the Sheridan School District. Eight K-9 units swept the campus, including classrooms, lockers, hallways, and parking areas.

In total, eight other agencies participated in the operation: the Desha County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Redfield Police Department, White Hall Police Department, Pine Bluff Police Department, and the Arkansas State Police.

Law enforcement leaders credited with assisting in the effort included Desha County Sheriff Mitch Grant, Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Saline County Sheriff Rodney Wright, Redfield Police Chief Stefe McFatridge, White Hall Police Chief Mickey Buffkin, Pine Bluff Police Chief Shirley Warrior, and Arkansas State Police Col. Mike Hager.
