A $10,000 bond was set Friday for a man currently on probation in Phillips County who is accused of stealing tools from a house that is currently under construction.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Dalton Pritchett, 30, with breaking or entering and theft of property.

Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said the allegations are based on an affidavit from Sheriff’s Investigator Kristen Pennington about an incident on Aug. 15.

Spradlin said the victim went to the house next door on Aug. 16 to see if they had a video camera that showed the theft and Pritchett, who answered the door, was wearing the same shorts as the person in the video from his camera.

Pritchett is on probation and a suspended imposition of sentence on charges of first-degree battery and terroristic threatening.

He was told to come back to court Oct. 10.
