The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Rodney (Rod) Dean Riedel, 58, who had been missing since early August, has been found deceased.
In a statement released with the family’s permission, the sheriff’s office said Riedel was discovered around 4:30 p.m. Friday along Highway 65 north of Clinton. Authorities said he appeared to have suffered fatal injuries from an automobile accident.
“It is with our deepest sympathy to inform that Rodney Dean Riedel has been found,” the statement read. “Please keep his family and friends in your prayers in the coming days.”
Riedel was last seen August 5 leaving the Alon Station on Martin Street in Warren. His last known phone activity pinged near Clinton in the early hours of August 6, prompting a multi-agency search effort.
