England Man Sentenced to 15 Years for 2023 Murder

A 24-year-old England man has been sentenced to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the 2023 shooting death of Justin Williams, 34, of Pulaski County.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Tamarous Dodson entered the plea in connection with the July 1, 2023, incident at the corner of South Main and Nichols streets in England. Williams was killed, and two other people were wounded during the altercation.

Following the shooting, the England Police Department requested help from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators, working alongside the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office, located and arrested Dodson on December 9, 2023, at a residence on Southwest First Street in England.

Authorities said the case was resolved through a coordinated investigative effort between state and local agencies.
