Eric Walden Jr. Announces Candidacy for Jefferson County Judge

Election season is underway, and several candidates are beginning to announce their bids for various positions across the Deltaplex area. The latest to enter the race is Eric Walden, Jr., who has officially announced his candidacy for Jefferson County Judge.

Walden, a Democrat, earned his GED before graduating from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a degree in psychology. He later obtained an MBA in Public Administration from Strayer University and a Master of Divinity from Regent University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Christian Leadership and Renewal, also from Regent University.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Walden serves as Pastor of New Morning Star Baptist Church and as Assistant Chief of Staff in the Sixth Division Circuit Court.

He spoke with Deltaplex News about his campaign and the reasons behind his decision to run.

He shared what he hopes to accomplish first if he is elected.

He continued by discussing issues with the county road department.

There has been a longstanding rift within the Jefferson County Quorum Court. Walden shared how he plans to address the issue if elected.

Walden concluded by explaining why he believes the citizens of Jefferson County should vote for him.
