A $2,500 cash only bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man, currently on probation, who was arrested after fleeing from an Arkansas State Trooper who attempted to stop the moped the man was riding.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Eddie Williams, 38, with felony fleeing.
Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin explained the allegation against Williams which was based on an affidavit by State Police Cpl. Darryl Hinton who had been patrolling on Dollarway Road.
Spradlin said Williams has prior convictions in Jefferson, Baxter and Pope Counties and is on probation in all those counties.
In addition to the felony allegation, Williams has multiple misdemeanor traffic and a drug related charge. He was told to come back to court Aug. 25.
