At its most recent meeting, the Monticello City Council heard the second reading of an ordinance updating fees for the city’s water meter deposits.
According to the Advance Monticellonian newspaper, if passed, the new fees would be $100 per unit for residential/renters; $100 per unit for multi-unit residential; $200 per unit for small commercial businesses; $1,000 for commercial meters requiring 3-4’metersand $2,000 for commercial meters 6” or more.
The ordinance was tabled until the August meeting when it will be read for the third and final time.
The council also approved a resolution to add Fawn Lane to the city’s current street overlay project. The budget will be amended by $30,000, the estimated cost of the project, with the funds coming from the city’s one-cent sales tax.
