The Cleveland County School District has voted to join the Virtual Arkansas Home School program being offered through the Arkansas River Education Cooperative of Pine Bluff.

According to the Cleveland County Herald newspaper, the school district will benefit from the program because it will be able to count home school students in the district’s average daily attendance. This in turn will mean that more state funding will be available because it is distributed on a per-student basis.

The newspaper reported that this year, the district received $8,162 per student.
