| PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS – Liberty’s annual Arkansas water system flushing is scheduled to begin the week of July 21, weather permitting, in Pine Bluff and White Hall. Woodson and Hensley communities are scheduled to follow.
Flushing is the process of cleaning water mains by opening fire hydrants and allowing them to flow freely, sometimes up to 24 hours. Once the flushing begins, Liberty crews will work around the clock until flushing is completed. The Arkansas Department of Health requires annual flushing to ensure fire hydrants are working properly. In addition to ensuring system reliability, flushing also improves water quality. Customers who may experience any water quality issues during the scheduled flushing times are asked to run cold water from their faucet for 10 minutes.
