Monticello Man Faces $10,000 Bond After Stolen Gun Found in Vehicle

A $10,000 bond was set Monday for a Monticello man who was arrested after police found a gun that had been reported stolen in the vehicle the man was driving.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jadelyn Rowlett, 26, with theft by receiving.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Charles Treadway, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said in the early morning hours Saturday, White Hall Police were patrolling I-530 when they saw a Mercedes driven by Rowell traveling at excessive speed and conducted a traffic stop.

In addition to the felony allegation, Rowlett was cited for a number of misdemeanor traffic offenses , He was told to come back to court Aug. 11.
