A $10,000 bond was set Friday for a Jefferson County man on a drug related charge.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Javonte Shelton, 21, with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.
Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Charles Treadway, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Karres Manning said on Thursday at 10:25 p.m., a White Hall Police Officer was patrolling Dollarway Road when he saw a White Chevrolet traveling north that was failing to maintain its lane of traffic and conducted a traffic stop.
Shelton has a charge of aggravated assault pending. He was told to come back to court Aug. 8.
