Simmons Bank Issues Fraud Warning Over Text Message Scam

Simmons Bank has issued an urgent fraud notice to customers following a surge in suspicious text messages impersonating the bank. The warning outlines a scam campaign targeting users by requesting sensitive personal information under false pretenses.

According to the notice, these fraudulent texts ask recipients for details such as account numbers, debit card numbers, online and mobile banking passcodes, and even Social Security Numbers. The scam is designed to trick individuals into giving up private data that can be used to access their financial accounts.

“Do not click any links, do not call the phone number provided in the message, do not reply to any text messages, and do not provide any of your personal information,” the bank advised.

Simmons Bank emphasized that it will never request that customers repeat a one-time passcode sent to their device. That code is intended only for secure use during the customer’s personal online banking session. Fraudsters, however, often impersonate legitimate representatives to request that code in order to breach a customer’s profile.

The bank urges anyone who may have already shared personal information in response to such a message to contact Simmons Bank Customer Care immediately at 1-866-246-2400.
