A $25,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Jefferson County man previously convicted of multiple felonies who fled from sheriff’s deputies attempting to stop the vehicle the man was driving.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jamaar McNealy, 33, with felony fleeing.
Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on Monday at 6:59 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Blunt was westbound on the Martha Mitchell Expressway when he saw a black Nissan automobile that had an expired license plate and a check of the license plate number showed that it was registered to a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
In addition to the felony fleeing allegation, McNealy received multiple traffic citations. He was told to come back to court July 23.
