Two Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Commanders Graduate from Prestigious Arkansas Leader Program

Captain Kaylon McDaniel, Training Division Commander for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Lieutenant Dennis Kendall, Assistant Commander of the Criminal Investigation Division, have successfully graduated from Arkansas Leader Session XXXIII, an elite executive-level training program for senior criminal justice professionals.

The graduation ceremony, held in Little Rock, marked a significant milestone in both officers’ careers and reflects the department’s broader commitment to cultivating leadership excellence. The Arkansas Leader program is jointly sponsored by the Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute (CJI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and is recognized as one of just sixteen Command Colleges in the FBI’s national leadership development portfolio.

Through an intensive curriculum and instruction by distinguished lecturers, participants in the program engage in advanced leadership training, focusing on critical decision-making, ethical practices, and mentorship strategies for developing future law enforcement leaders.

Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr., a graduate of Arkansas Leader Session XX, personally nominated Captain McDaniel and Lieutenant Kendall for Session XXXIII. Their successful completion highlights the agency’s investment in continuous professional development for its command staff.
