Several individuals appeared before the Desha County Circuit Court last week and entered negotiated plea agreements, resulting in various sentences for criminal charges. The court also issued a warrant for a defendant who failed to appear for her scheduled hearing.
Sentencings from negotiated pleas included:
-
Walter Hobbs III was sentenced to 3 years in Community Corrections followed by 3 years of Suspended Imposition of Sentence (SIS) after pleading guilty to Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons.
-
Damontre Sandifer received 5 years of supervised probation along with court-imposed fines and costs for Aggravated Assault on a Family or Household Member.
-
Niaka Harris was sentenced to 3 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, with an additional 3 years SIS, after pleading guilty to Fleeing in a Vehicle.
-
Lazarrick Black pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including Arson, Aggravated Assault on a Corrections or Law Enforcement Officer, and Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree. He was sentenced to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, with 2 years SIS to follow.
Failure to Appear:
-
Amy Lambert failed to appear in court to face charges of Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance. As a result, the court has issued a warrant for her arrest.
These proceedings reflect the court’s continued handling of criminal matters through plea negotiations and underscore the importance of appearing for scheduled court dates.
