President Donald Trump has issued a full and unconditional pardon to Jeremy Hutchinson, a former Arkansas state senator sent to prison on bribery charges.
Hutchinson was serving a total of eight years in prison for conspiracy to commit federal program bribery, as well as previous sentences in the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas.
In court, he admitted to using his power as a Senator to hold up agency budgets, initiating legislative audits, sponsoring, and voting for legislation that would help Preferred Family Healthcare Inc., a nonprofit that hired him.
His plea agreement states Hutchinson was paid a $350,000 monthly retainer, and received hotel rooms and Major League Baseball tickets, all paid for by Preferred Family.
Hutchinson is not only a former state senator, but also the nephew of former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and son of former Arkansas Senator Tim Hutchinson.
