A shooting in Holly Grove on Sunday evening has left one woman dead and two others injured, prompting a state-level investigation.
According to authorities, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Holly Grove Police Department requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) following the incident, which occurred at the intersection of Dr. Herd Stone and Smith streets.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found 24-year-old Shanautica Parks of Stuttgart suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Monroe County Coroner.
Two additional victims—a 49-year-old man from Stuttgart and a 19-year-old woman from England, Arkansas—were also injured by gunfire. Both were transported to area hospitals, with the man taken to Little Rock and the woman to a hospital in Stuttgart. Their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Parks’ body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
