Desha County Circuit Court Sentencings and Warrants Issued

The Desha County Sheriff’s Office has released a report detailing recent court proceedings held yesterday in Desha County Circuit Court. Multiple individuals entered negotiated plea agreements and received sentencing, while several others failed to appear and now face active warrants for their arrest.

Sentencings from Negotiated Pleas:

  • Keith Rainey – Convicted of Furnishing, Possessing, Using, or Delivering Prohibited Articles into a Detention Facility. Sentenced to 5 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections (ADC), followed by 5 years of Suspended Imposition of Sentence (SIS).

  • Amariss Owens – Convicted of two counts: Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I or II (Methamphetamine) and Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule VI. Sentenced to 4 years unsupervised probation for the methamphetamine charge and 1 year unsupervised probation for the Schedule VI charge.

  • Thomas Tipps – Convicted of Furnishing, Possessing, Using, or Delivering Prohibited Articles into a Detention Facility. Sentenced to 30 years in ADC, to run concurrent with a previous 30-year sentence for Possession, Delivery, or Manufacturing of Methamphetamine.

  • Dale Miller II – Convicted of multiple charges: Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule VI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Fleeing in a Vehicle. Sentenced to 18 years in ADC, plus 5 years SIS.

  • Brenda Verser – Convicted of Possession with Purpose to Deliver Schedule VI Controlled Substance greater than 4 ounces. Sentenced to 6 years of unsupervised probation.

  • Jamarcus Dupree – Convicted of Robbery and Theft of a Firearm. Sentenced to 10 years in ADC, plus 5 years SIS.

  • Charles Palmerin – Convicted of Probation Revocation related to original charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Fleeing on Foot. Sentenced to 2 years at the Community Corrections Center.

  • James Peacock – Facing charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I or II, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, and Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons. Bond revoked and increased to $50,000.

Failure to Appear – Warrants Issued:

Warrants have been issued for the following individuals who failed to appear in court:

  • Keila WilsonHindering Apprehension, Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I or II, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

  • Lisa HunterResidential Burglary, Theft of Property Greater than $2,500 (12 counts).

  • Oliver Jordan Jr.Commercial Burglary, Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I or II, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

  • Chandalynn RineyDomestic Battery 2nd Degree.
