Two White Hall residents were injured, and a Hot Springs woman was killed in a two0-vehicle accident Monday in Hot Springs.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, a 2016 Honda Civic driven by Gerald Eugene Lewis, 60, was traveling in the eastbound traffic lane at the 4500 block of Highway 70 when a 2006 Ford Focus driven by Gabriel Nicole Washington, 36, of Hot Springs that had been traveling west failed to maintain her traffic lane.
The Ford hydroplaned, crossing over the continuous left turning lane and into the eastbound lane, colliding with the front of the Honda.
Lewis and a passenger in his car, Mary Lee Lewis, 55, also of White Hall were injured and taken to a hospital. Washington died as a result of the accident.
The death was the 162nd so far this year on the state’s highways.
