Because of the planned construction of the new Pine Bluff High School will begin this spring, the school district is making plans to use the now closed Jack Robey Junior High on South Olive Street for the two years it is expected to take to build the new school.

On Tuesday, Pine Bluff School District Superintendent Jennifer Barbaree was asked if Robey will be ready to use.

Barbaree was a guest on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show where host Greg Horne said it will be a hugh project after the construction is done.

Horne also asked if the district has received bids from construction companies wanting to do the work in building the new school.

“What will go into that,” Horne asked. “You want to take the low bid but you’ve got to make sure it is responsible.”

She said she did not know how many of the companies who have submitted bids are local.
