After hearing from all nine residents who submitted letters of interest to fill the final six months of the post being vacated by retiring Judge Gerald Robinson, the Quorum Court went with experience.
Former Pine Bluff Alderman, retired police chief and longtime community leader Ivan Whitfield was unanimously elected to be the interim Jefferson County Judge.
He will serve out the remainder of Robinson’s term following his retirement, effective June 30th.
Whitfield told Deltaplex News he is ready to get started and knows what needs to be done
Whitfield was asked whether he would be reaching out to Robinson over the next two and a half weeks
Whitfield went on to say he was happy they chose him, and that he is glad to be part of the movement that we’re going forward with.
