A two-vehicle crash in rural Arkansas County Saturday afternoon resulted in the death of one person and injuries to three more.
According to a preliminary report, Alish Ratnani, 25, of Mabelvale was southbound in the northbound lane of U.S. 165 in a 2003 Ford when a 2016 Jeep driven by Arleigh M. Allen, 23, of England attempted to avoid hitting the Ford by veering to the northbound shoulder. The Ford also veered to the north shoulder and the vehicles hit head-on.
Ratnani was killed and Allen and two passengers in her vehicle, Cedric Allen, 46, and a minor were injured and taken to hospitals in Little Rock for treatment.
The accident was reported at 12:30 p.m. and the death was the 187th so far this year on the state’s highways.
