The Pine Bluff School District is pleased to announce that the Arkansas State Board of Education approved the recommendation made by the Division of Elementary and Secondary (DESE) to approve a limited authority board for the Pine Bluff School District.

The new board will be made up of seven community members who reside in the seven school board zones across the district. The selection process consisted of the candidates completing an application and interview with the selection committee. The newly appointed board members are named below:

Dr. Stephen Broughton – Interventional Fellow, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center

Lozanne Calhoun – Vice President for Student Affairs, Southeast Arkansas College

Dr. Charles Colen – Professor and Chair, UAPB Department of Industrial Technology Management and Applied Engineering

Jomeka Edwards – Newborn Screening Laboratory Manager, Arkansas Department of Health

Lori Guelache – Assistant Director, City of Pine Bluff

Dr. Sederick Charles Rice – Site Director, UAPB HBCU Med-Track Program

Ricky L. Whitmore, Jr – Counselor Intern, Pinnacle Pointe Outpatient Clinic (Sheridan), and Counselor Trainee, Community Counseling Clinic (Little Rock)
