A 25-year veteran in the education field is now the first-year superintendent of the Dumas School District and on Wednesday talked about the district and her plans moving forward.
Before being named superintendent, Camille Sterrett spent nine years as the coordinator of federal programs in the Dumas District and appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show.
Since she had been with the district during COVID, host Greg Horne asked her if the Dumas District adopted a virtual approach, a classroom approach, or a combination of both.
Sterrett was also asked about test scores in the district and responded this way.
Like the Watson Chapel and White Hall School Districts, the Dumas District is preparing to take advantage of a program being offered by Central Moloney to offer training in welding to students. Sterrett said she heard about it after hearing an interview with Central Moloney CEO Christ Hart on Oldies 1013 and immediately called Hart.
