A $15,000 cash only bond was set Thursday for a Redfield man on multiple felony allegations.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Ronald Gee, 40, with felony fleeing, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, possession of a controlled substance, theft by receiving and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said Redfield Police Sgt. Richard DeBill was on US. Highway 365 when he saw a white Chevrolet and a license check showed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Warren. DeBill and Redfield Police Chief Steve McFatridge attempted to stop the vehicle which fled at a high rate of speed.

Redfield Police Detective Terri Patterson reported the vehicle reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour in a chase that went from Highway 104 to Highway 270 to Bruce Trail. During the chase, the vehicle, driven by Gee hit another vehicle that was occupied before continuing to flee.

The front passenger tire on the vehicle blew out and the vehicle hit a tree. Gee tried to flee on foot but was apprehended by Tri-County Drug task Force Investigator Joseph O’Neal.

Carson said officers located a backpack containing plastic baggies of a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, and a digital scale.

When Gee was questio0ned, he said he did not know the vehicle had been reported stolen but said the items in the backpack belonged to him

Carson said Gee is out on bond on pending cases and was convicted of forgery in 2018 with the sentence suspended. He was told to come back to court Oct. 12.
