A recent survey by the Arkansas Hospital Association showed that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have an effect on the financial success of the state’s hospitals.
Add inflation to that and it presents challenges to the medical profession, including Jefferson Regional Hospital.
On Wednesday, Brian Thomas, CEO of Jefferson Regional was a guest on the Oldies 1013 morn9ing show and was asked about inflation.
Thomas then went on to talk about reimbursement levels.
According to a press release from the Arkansas Hospital Association, in many communities, the hospital is the largest employer and 40 Arkansas counties are served by a single hospital.
“Unless hospitals receive additional assistance from state and federal government, we will see more reductions in services and possibly even closures,” Bo Ryall, President of the Arkansas Hospital Association said in a press release.
Thomas said patient satisfaction scores and quality of care scores at Jefferson Regional continue to increase and current conditions are favorable.
