A $20,000 bond was set Thursday for a Jefferson County man accused of breaking into a fire station on Wednesday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Joseph Ray Chowning, 60, with breaking or entering.

Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King told the court what Chowning was accused of doing.

King said Chowning has been convicted of multiple charges of theft of property and the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections has issued a warrant charging him with violating the conditions of his parole. Chowning was ordered to come back to court on March 4.
