The Star City School Board at its meeting Monday approved a $1,000 bonus for certified/classified employees.
According to the Lincoln Ledger newspaper, Superintendent Jordan Frizzell reported that the district has had a good year financially. The board also approved a state legislative report recommending a five-percent pay increase for new staff and promotions.
In other action, the board adopted a policy that will allow district administrators to decide whether wearing face masks should be mandatory or optional, based on the infection rate in the district and in the community.
