Now that the U.S. Senate has passed the first phase of President Joe Biden’s massive infrastructure legislation, it moves to the House of Representatives where its future is less certain.
Before that happens, the Senate will attempt to pass the second part of the legislation, a $3.5 trillion package devoted to what Democrats are calling Human Infrastructure.
On a visit to Pine Bluff and Jefferson County, Republican 4th District Congressman Bruce Westerman told Deltaplex News he had concerns about that the costs associated with that package.
He was then asked if the legislation had a chance of passing.
Westerman went on to say the massive amount of money that will be spent on infrastructure needs will create competition for employers seeking to fill jobs in the private sector.
