A $75,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of fleeing from police Tuesday afternoon and being in possession of drugs.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Marvin Ford, 39, with felony fleeing and possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

During the court hearing, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Will Jones said Police Sgt. Brett Talley and Detective Jeremy Crosby were patrolling when they saw a vehicle driven by Ford with the windows down. He said Ford was not wearing a seat belt and there was loud music coming from the vehicle so the officers tried to make a traffic stop.

Jones said Ford has an extensive criminal history and appears to be on parole. He was told to come back to court Feb. 2.
